I-A-Q #16: Share your Real Estate Vault
Happy Monday!
Here is an Idea, an Action, and a Question to consider this week.
Idea
In the military, some information is “classified.”
Classified Military Information is information and materials that require protection in the interests of national security. It’s assigned a certain level of national security classification, depending on how sensitive or important that data is.
Military personnel are also given (or not given) a certain level of security clearance, and depending on your level of security clearance, you do or do not have access to certain information.
In the military, your classification is assigned to you, but in civilian life, you are responsible for assigning classification levels to your peers.
In my experience, many folks give a meaningful “security clearance” to very few people—if any. They choose to hoard information and think within the confines of a scarcity mindset. They view all resources as finite and generally look to take as much as they can in every situation.
This fear of sharing limits their growth and prevents them from realizing their full potential.
Don’t be stingy with your security clearances! Let more people into the SCIF! (In the military, the SCIF is the area within a building that is used to discuss and view classified information. It's basically a big vault.) Even the military realizes how important it is to give access to its vaults in order to improve and progress.
Surround yourself with good people, who push you to be better, and share your tips and techniques with them. Give freely and openly. By doing so, the benefits will almost always outweigh the risks.
Action
Confidence is key when it comes to sharing openly with others without feeling threatened. Do this 10-minute meditation from Headspace and start to leave the scarcity mindset behind.
Question
Are you worried that people are going to steal your techniques/ideas if you share them freely?
See you next week,
