Back to Basics

Happy Monday! Roar, here.

Here’s an idea from me, an action for you, and a question for us all to consider this week.

An Idea from Me

Let’s rewind a couple years: I’m a brand new agent, and I’m attending my first real estate agent course. As a newly-licensed realtor, I’m eager and excited to learn everything I can. But I quickly realize that the certified instructor leading the course hasn’t nailed down her basics. She’s confusing foundational concepts and mixing up rudimentary terms.

In an effort to help, I raise my hand and clarify some of her mix-ups. Soon, the class of 30 students stops looking to her and starts looking to me for the answers. All because my foundational knowledge was strong.

The basics can’t be overlooked. Build your foundational knowledge with extreme tenacity. Don’t be the expert who confuses his/her fundamental principles.

An Action for You

Listen to The Ultimate Beginner’s Podcast for Real Estate Investors from the folks at BiggerPockets. Beef up your foundational knowledge. Fill the gaps.

A Question for Us All

When’s the last time you studied the basics?

See you next week,
