My Core Four

Happy Monday! Roar, here.

Here’s this week’s IAQ:

Idea

My best deals happen when my four strategic partners (my “Core Four”) are part of the process. My Core Four consists of my title rep, inspector, insurance rep, and lender.

Everything is easier when I work with this team. It’s taken time and planning, but the relationships I’ve cultivated lead all of us to greater success. We trust each other, rely on each other, and have each other’s backs when something goes sideways.

A few years ago, I had three of my clients under contract at the same title company, and the owner of the title company decided that it would be a good idea to steal all $3M in the escrow account that held everyone's earnest money deposits. Through massive personal risk and liability, my title rep got everyone back on track and all closed successfully. If it wasn’t for the strong relationship with my rep, this disaster may not have been abated.

Build strong strategic partnerships. Invest in your relationships. You’ll go far if you’ve got a team you can count on.

Action

At your next networking event, start the vetting process for your key strategic partners. Ask your colleagues who they use. Tell anyone who will listen what you’re looking for. Once you start asking for what you want, you’ll be surprised how quickly you can make progress towards building your dream team.

Question

Who is missing from your strategic partnership roster, and how will you get that person?

See you next week,

Matt “Roar” Gardner
